ABNR Ranked Among Top-3 Indonesian Law Firms by ‘Legal 500 Asia Pacific’ 2019

ABNR has emerged with flying colors in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019 rankings, reaffirming our status as one of Indonesia’s top-three commercial law firms. Overall, our legal expertise in a total of 12 key practice areas is recognized, while 19 ABNR lawyers are lauded as either “Leading Individuals” or “Recommended Lawyers” for their cutting-edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel.

The Legal 500 is one of the two most highly regarded international legal directories, ranking law firms in more than 150 jurisdictions around the world.

ABNR received Tier-1 rankings for Antitrust & Competition, Banking & Finance, Corporate M&A, Projects & Energy, Real Estate, Restructuring & Insolvency, and Shipping, and Tier-2 rankings for Aviation, Capital Markets, IT & Telecoms, and Labor & Employment.

In addition, the Firm was accorded a Tier-4 ranking for Dispute Resolution, no mean feat given the exceedingly tight competition in the Indonesian Disputes & ADR market at the present time. This ranking comes on the back of ABNR’s recent recognition as an “Indonesia Firm of the Year 2018” for International Arbitration, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution by In-House Community, a prestigious, Hong Kong-based network of in-house counsel at leading multinational corporations across the Asia, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions.

Commenting on the 2019 rankings, ABNR Management Committee member Agus Deradjat remarked: “This really is most encouraging, particularly the Tier-1 ranking for Competition & Antitrust, given that Indonesia’s competition regulator, the KPPU, is one of the most activist in the region.”

Separately, Management Committee member Emir Nurmansyah said: “The legal directory rankings are important to us for many reasons: Not only do they highlight our expertise and leading position in the market, they are also a big help to us in continuing to attract outstanding young graduates from the country’s best law schools amid ever increasing competition for top talent.”

ABNR’s success in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific rankings comes hard on the heels of the Firm’s outstanding performance at the ALB Indonesia Law Awards 2018, where ABNR emerged as one of the top-two Indonesian law firms in terms of number of awards received.
