Mr. Achmad S. Kartohadiprodjo joined ABNR as a partner in 1985. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung, Indonesia, in 1966. In 1972, he was admitted to the Foreign Investment and Administrative Law Program at Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California in Berkeley. Before returning to private practice in 1984, he headed Garuda Indonesia's legal bureau (1972 - 1984). He was seconded as General Counsel to Indonesian Finance Investment (IFI) from 1984 to 1986, and subsequent to that as General Counsel to the Indonesian office of the American Express Bank, from 1987 to 1990.

His current specialties are aviation law, family law and litigation. Specifically in the field of aviation law, he handles legal matters involving the following:

 

  • aircraft sales and purchases;
  • aircraft financing, loan, sale and purchase agreements, including the mortgaging of aircrafts as security for the financing;
  • aircraft wet lease and dry lease; including aircraft operating lease and financed lease;
  • aircraft engine sale and purchase and lease;
  • airline catering;
  • airport services;
  • ground handling services;
  • aircraft maintenance services;
  • aircraft accidents;
  • aircraft and engine insurance;
  • airline crew and staff employment;
  • air cargo and travel agency;
  • airline services other than the above.


He has been a licensed advocate since 1969.
