ABNR Represented Yulong Int’l Business (HK) Co. in the PKPU Restructuring of PT Wanxiang Nickel Indonesia

ABNR represented Yulong Int’l Business (HK) Co., Limited (Yulong) in PT Wanxiang Nickel Indonesia’s (Wanxiang) Suspension of Payments (PKPU) proceedings. Most creditors approved Wanxiang’s composition plan, which the Commercial Court subsequently homologated.

The matter is one of Indonesia’s larger mining and smelting restructurings, with acknowledged claims of approximately IDR 11 trillion (USD 650 million), including Yulong’s claim accounted for IDR 962 billion (USD 56.6 million). Wanxiang, a nickel miner and smelter, entered PKPU following a petition filed in October 2025.

ABNR advised Yulong by submitting and verifying its claims, attending creditors’ meetings, and representing it at PKPU hearings.

As a Hong Kong creditor holding claims under Hong Kong-law agreements, Yulong required cross-border coordination, and ABNR worked with Beijing DeHeng Law Offices (Jinan), Indonesian court-appointed administrators, and the Commercial Court throughout the proceedings.

The matter highlights the need for careful creditor representation in complex cross-border restructurings, especially when a creditor’s position differs from the outcome.

The ABNR team was led by Partners Mr. Emir Nurmansyah, Ms. Ulyarta Naibaho, and Mr. Bilal Anwari, supported by senior associate Mr. Natanael Yusviando and associates Mr. Marlon Mikail and Mr. Justin Wibisono.
