ABNR Shines Again at ALB Indonesia Law Awards 2021

ABNR emerged as one of the top three winners at the 2021 iteration of the ALB Indonesia Law Awards, which were presented during an online ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Recognizing the country’s best law firms, legal work and lawyers across all major practice areas, this year’s event saw ABNR take a total of five awards:

• Environmental Law Firm of the Year
• Maritime Law Firm of the Year
• Medical and Healthcare Law Firm of the Year
• Debt Market Deal of the Year (Premium) - Duniatex Group's Debt Restructuring
• Project Finance Deal of the Year - Financing for 2,000MW Jawa 9+10 Power Project

Speaking about this latest recognition for the firm, ABNR Management Committee member Mr. Agus Ahadi Deradjat commented: “It is really great to receive accolades like these amid the doom and gloom of the pandemic. It also helps make up for all the hard work and the late nights that working for a multinational clientele located in diverse time zones inevitably involves.”

Mr. Deradjat’s comments were echoed by fellow Management Committee member Mr. Nafis Adwani, who added that the recognition would encourage the ABNR’s lawyers to keep going that extra mile for clients.

Speaking about how the pandemic had impacted on ABNR’s business, the third member of ABNR’s Management Committee, Mr. Emir Nurmansyah, commented as follows:

So, as we expected from past experience, the Covid crisis has led to a surge in restructuring & insolvency work, and also manpower work on the back of large-scale redundancies. What is different in this crisis is that TMT and fintech have emerged as boom areas in line with the switch to online working and shopping.”
