Ruth is an associate at ABNR. Her main practice areas are corporate/mergers & acquisitions (M&A), banking & finance, and real estate.
In corporate/M&A, she has participated in a series of due diligence projects, share transfers and M&A transactions, as well as general corporate maintenance. Her recent work includes the acquisition of a publicly listed coal mining company and its subsidiaries by a Singapore-based coal producer.
In banking & finance, she has advised on a diverse range of financial-sector acquisitions involving commercial banks, finance companies, securities firms, insurance companies and fintech startups, including the acquisition of an Indonesian commercial bank by a prominent South Korean conglomerate. She also offers extensive knowledge of licensing and compliance issues in the financial sector.
In real estate, Ruth advises both international and domestic clients on the complexities of Indonesian real estate law, including land procurement, spatial planning, land titles, and real property transfers (including transfers conducted as part of M&A transactions). Her recent work includes a number of real estate acquisition transactions for the development of new manufacturing facilities, power plant projects, high-rise office towers, and a resort complex.
After graduating from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Ruth was awarded a fully funded scholarship under the Korean Government Scholarship Program in 2016, which enabled her to study the Korean language for a year at Chosun University, Gwangju, followed by the completion of her LL.M. degree in 2019 at Seoul National University, South Korea.
Ruth joined ABNR in 2022, after working as a legal researcher at an intergovernmental organization jointly established by South Korea and Indonesia, and subsequently gaining experience as an associate at an internationally affiliated law firm.
