Zefanya, or Ze as she is familiarly known, joined ABNR in late 2023 and was made Senior Associate shortly after.
She began her legal career at another prestigious law firm in Indonesia before transitioning into the private sector, where she worked successively at a Thailand-based technology startup and an Indonesian listed media and entertainment company. Prior to joining ABNR, she practiced at an internationally affiliated Indonesian law firm.
Ze’s practice focuses on real estate, general corporate, foreign direct investment (FDI), and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
In real estate, Ze has assisted clients with a wide variety of transactions, including the acquisition and disposal of land and buildings across sectors such as industrial estates, factories, waste-to-energy projects, special economic zones (e.g., Sanur Health and Tourism SEZ, Batam Nongsa SEZ), residential and commercial developments (including data centers, hotels, villas, and strata-title shopping centers), and office towers.
She is also experienced in structuring and advising on lease and land utilization arrangements for both private and state-owned enterprises (SOEs), across sectors such as industrial activities, build-to-suit developments, automotive, animal husbandry, and co-working spaces. Her work frequently involves navigating land ownership issues, title transfers (e.g., sale and purchase, relinquishment and registration), zoning, and regulatory compliance.
In the areas of general corporate, FDI and M&A, Ze has advised on a broad range of matters, including foreign ownership limitations, corporate governance, licensing, business restructuring, and spin-offs. She regularly assists with share acquisitions and subscriptions, legal due diligence, and the preparation of key transaction documents such as conditional shares purchase agreements (CSPA), shareholders agreement (SHA), and conditional shares subscription agreements (CSSA).
At ABNR, she has supported both domestic and international clients from a wide range of jurisdictions, including Korea, PRC, Russia, and UAE. She has handled multiple land acquisitions in Greater Jakarta and Bali, particularly for office, apartment, and villa resort developments, and has also worked on lease and land utilization agreements across various sectors.
Ze holds a law degree from the University of Indonesia, majoring in economic law, and an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, with a certificate in business law. She was admitted to the Indonesian bar in 2023.
