Nova is a senior associate at ABNR, where he has practiced law for more than 10 years. His principal focus areas are capital markets, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), banking and finance, and projects and energy.

In his capital markets work, he has been involved in a long list of significant transactions (both domestic and international), including initial public offerings, rights issues, bond issuances, voluntary tender offers, de-listings, and go-private initiatives, as well as advising local and international clients on all aspects of Indonesian capital markets law and practice.

In the regulatory arena, he was part of the ABNR teams that assisted two Indonesian capital market self-regulatory organizations to review their existing and proposed regulations, and worked closely with one of these organizations to develop e-voting and e-proxy ballot forms and procedures for Indonesian public companies. He also maintains a close professional relationship with the capital market regulators.

In M&A, he has advised a number of high-profile domestic and multinational corporations on all aspects of their M&A transactions in Indonesia. Recently, he worked alongside Indonesian counsel to the arrangers and lenders for the USD 2.05 billion in financing provided to one of Indonesia’s largest food companies, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk, for its acquisition of an overseas instant noodle manufacturer. 

Nova’s banking and finance work includes the successful acquisition of a local bank by South Korea’s APRO Financial Inc., and its subsequent merger with another local bank. He also assisted an Indonesian digital bank with its rights issue at the end of 2021.

His projects and energy mandates have included assisting Indonesian State Railways (KAI) with various financing projects, including a USD 4.5 billion direct loan for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project, and USD 1.38 billion in syndicated financing for the rollout of the Greater Jakarta Light Rail (LRT) project in 2018. 

In the litigation arena, he has acted in a wide variety of matters, including in relation to repurchase agreements and debt restructurings of listed companies, and on behalf of securities companies, in both judicial and arbitration proceedings.

Nova graduated in 2010 from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, majoring in business law, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the same major at the University of Indonesia. He is also a certified tax lawyer and capital markets legal consultant.
