Sonia is an associate at ABNR whose practice focuses on Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and general corporate law. 

In the TMT sector, Sonia regularly advises leading multi-national and local companies on data privacy and protection, internet-based services (digital platforms, social media, online games, cloud computing, e-commerce, and over-the-top services), cybersecurity, and content moderation. She is known for delivering tailored, practical solutions aligned with each client’s business objectives, and frequently provides hands-on support to clients navigating complex regulatory frameworks. 

Sonia has also been involved in a number of major M&A transactions, such as the acquisition of hospitals and the acquisition of leading payment gateway companies in Indonesia.

She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from Universitas Indonesia, majoring in Business and International Law, where she was actively involved in university organizations and committees, including the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA). She later obtained an LL.M in Entertainment, Media and Technology Law from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2019. While at UCLA, she was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association and contributed to International Justice Project, which partnered with global law and human rights organizations to conduct comparative legal research and draft memoranda and briefs. 

In addition to her academic experience, Sonia has worked as an International Counsel at a prominent Silicon Valley start-up incubator in and previously supported the Indonesian desk at a Singapore-based law firm.
