ABNR Advises Geo Energy Resources on USD 151-million Coal Road and Port Deal
ABNR advised Singapore-based coal company Geo Energy Resources group, as project owner and guarantor, on their recently signed agreement for the USD 151-million development of an approx. 92 km coal-haul road that traverses South Sumatra and Jambi provinces, Indonesia, and a 7500 dwt coal loading berth located in South Sumatra province.
Under the agreement, the new infrastructure will be designed and developed by a consortium consisting of PRC-based CCCC First Harbor Consultants Co., Ltd., and NORINCO International Cooperation Ltd. (contractor).
The project aims to transport 40 million tons of coal per year via the road and 15 million via the jetty.
The ABNR team advising on the transaction was jointly led by partner Mr. Freddy Karyadi and of-counsel Ms. Rita Taufik, and included partner Mr. Mahatma Hadhi, senior associate Ms. Kartika Lestari and associate Mr. Rizal Harahap.
