ABNR Partners Engage with OJK on SOE Law Revisions and Financial Sector Oversight
At the invitation of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), ABNR is pleased to contribute to the Sharing Session: Valuable Insights on Behavior, Ethics & Skills (VIBES), held on 23 January 2026, OJK’s regular internal forum organized by its Internal Audit and Risk Management Division, where our Partners, Ayik C. Gunadi and Novario Hutagalung were invited as speakers
The session discusses the 2025 amendments to the SOE Law (UU BUMN 2025), focusing on their governance implications and OJK’s expanded role over state-owned enterprises and related financial institutions.
The discussion addressed the policy rationale for the revision and its practical implications for governance structures, risk transmission, and regulatory oversight, particularly across increasingly complex SOE group structures. The session also examined how legal and governance reforms may shape inform supervisory approaches going forward, through an exchange of views between regulators and legal practitioners.
For ABNR, the session provided direct insights into regulatory perspectives, priorities, and supervisory considerations under the amended SOE framework, with clear relevance to our advice to clients operating at the intersection of SOEs, financial institutions, and capital markets.
ABNR thanks OJK’s Internal Audit and Risk Management Division for the invitation and the opportunity for an open exchange of views. We also thank Ms. Sophia Isabella Wattimena (Chair of the OJK Audit Board and OJK Commissioner), Mr. Djonieri, Deputy Commissioner for Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Quality Control, as well as the relevant Directors and team members, for their engagement and insights.
ABNR remains committed to constructive engagement with regulators on key legal and regulatory developments impacting Indonesia’s financial services sector.
Special thanks to our ABNR Team members, Joshua Situmeang and Tanisha Maharani (Associates), for their support during preparation and throughout the session.
