Adrian joined ABNR as an associate in December 2021. He spent the early years of his career working at some of Indonesia’s leading corporate law firms, where he advised numerous national and international corporations on the Indonesian legal aspects of their business.
Adrian subsequently focused on dispute resolution, where his experience as a corporate lawyer gave him a sound appreciation of not only the legal issues, but also the commercial complexities and considerations involved in commercial legal disputes.
At ABNR, his areas of practice include commercial and criminal litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, employment, shipping, and technology, media, telecommunications (TMT) law. Adrian is also a core member of ABNR’s workplace investigations team.
In commercial litigation, he has advised and represented clients in a variety of civil proceedings. In 2025 alone, Adrian secured three courtroom victories in commercial litigation, most notably by successfully defending the Indonesian subsidiary of a Korean footwear manufacturing company in a complex legal dispute concerning land ownership and utilization. The case involved multiple parties, including various government authorities and private entities, and required navigating the fine balance between private legal ownership and public interest considerations. Adrian subsequently followed up his success at the Court of First Instance with another favorable outcome at the Appellate Court.
Adrian also frequently represents clients in negotiations and out-of-court dispute resolution processes.
In criminal litigation, he is currently representing the Indonesian subsidiary of an Australian oil & gas company in initiating criminal proceedings in relation to a fraud involving counterfeit Bank Guarantee. He was also recently involved in representing and defending a ship master indicted for unknowingly entering Indonesian territorial waters. Adrian has also represented and defended a foreign national against human trafficking allegations raised by former employees and assisted in defending the director of a national geothermal power company against fraud allegations.
In arbitration, Adrian recently represented a Chinese engineering company in arbitration proceedings commenced by its former client before the Indonesia National Arbitration Board (BANI) in relation to alleged defects in certain equipment manufactured by the company. He was also involved in representing an Indonesian medical devices distributor in an ad hoc arbitration conducted under the UNCITRAL Rules, arising from a contractual dispute brought by its principal.
In his previous workplace, Adrian gained unique experience assisting a renowned Indonesian legal expert acting as arbitrator in proceedings before the BANI and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). His notable cases include a sale-and-purchase contract dispute between Singaporean and Indonesian telecommunications companies, as well as a procurement dispute between a manpower recruitment company and an Indonesian state-owned oil and gas enterprise.
In the employment and investigations field, Adrian has assisted clients in conducting internal investigations into potential regulatory breaches, compliance failures, and employee-related misconduct, including matters with potential criminal and reputational exposure advised corporate clients. He also advises clients on a broad range of workplace matters, including employee misconduct, disciplinary actions, suspension and termination-related disputes, and post-employment obligations.
Adrian has also represented clients in all stages of the Indonesian Industrial Relations Dispute Settlement procedure, including bipartite negotiation, mediation at Manpower Offices, and court proceedings before the Industrial Relations Court.
In TMT, Adrian advises telecom providers, infrastructure operators, and digital service companies on a wide range of regulatory matters.
Adrian graduated from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR), Bandung, in 2015. While at college, he participated in several international law moot court competitions; most notably, he captained an UNPAR team that was selected to represent Indonesia in the 2015 Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition in Tokyo, Japan. He was also appointed an Indonesia delegate to the International Network of Universities Student Conference in Hiroshima, Japan.
