Adrian joined ABNR as an associate in December 2021. With wide experience, he spent the early years of his career working at some of Indonesia’s leading corporate law firms, where he advised numerous national and international corporations on the Indonesian legal aspects of their business.

Adrian subsequently focused on dispute resolution, where his experience as a corporate lawyer gave him a sound appreciation of not only the legal issues, but also the commercial complexities and considerations involved in commercial legal disputes.

At ABNR, his areas of practice includes commercial and criminal litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, general corporate matters, shipping, and mining law.

In commercial litigation, he advised and represented clients in a variety of civil proceedings. Notably,   he defended a Singapore oil drilling company in a tort proceeding against an Indonesian project owner in a contract dispute over a drilling contract.

More recently, he represented one of Singapore’s largest mobile network operators in a lawsuit against an Indonesian counterpart in a contractual dispute involving the sale and purchase of satellite equipment. He has also represented clients in negotiations over out-of-court dispute resolution.

In criminal litigation, he was most recently involved in representing and defending a ship master indicted for unknowingly entering Indonesian territorial waters. Adrian also represented and defended a foreign national against a human trafficking allegation by the defendant’s former employees. He also assisted and defended the director of a national geothermal power company against fraud allegations.

In arbitration, Adrian gained unique experience in assisting a renowned Indonesian legal expert as arbitrator in a variety of cases taken up by the Indonesia National Arbitration Board (ANI) and International Chambers of Commerce (ICC). His most notable cases include a sale-and-purchase contract dispute between Singapore and Indonesian telecommunications companies, and a procurement contract dispute between a manpower recruitment company and an Indonesian state-owned oil and gas enterprise.

In the general corporate field, Adrian has assisted clients to establish companies in Indonesia and advised them on Indonesian law compliance issues. He has also advised and assisted clients in several mergers & acquisition matters, with a specific focus in the mining industry.

Adrian graduated from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR), Bandung, in 2015. While at college, he participated in several international law moot court competitions; most notably, he captained an UNPAR team that was selected to represent Indonesia in the 2015 Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition in Tokyo, Japan. He was also appointed an Indonesia delegate to the International Network of Universities Student Conference in Hiroshima, Japan.
