Natanael (Natan), an associate, focuses his practice on restructuring & insolvency and dispute resolution. He has also advised on a variety of corporate issues, giving him broad experience of both contentious and non-contentious matters.
In restructuring & insolvency, he has acted for creditors in a variety of high-profile debt restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings, including the debt restructuring of major airline companies (Garuda Indonesia and Sriwijaya Air) and property developers (Meikarta, Sentul City, and China Sonangol), as well as restructuring processes across a range of other sectors that include textiles (Sritex group), shipping, commercial plantations, distribution, and hotels & hospitality.
In dispute resolution, he advises clients on pre-litigation commercial, contractual and tort matters, and litigation cases at all levels of the judicial system. He has also worked on a number of matters involving the enforcement of international arbitration awards through the Indonesian courts.
In addition, he has acted for clients in other types of litigation, such as white collar crime proceedings, and disputes in the employment / termination, shipping, and immigration arenas.
In non-contentious corporate matters, he has advised on a long list of M&A-related due diligence exercises across a wide range of industries and sectors, with a focus on clients’ anti-corruption, money laundering, and financing of terrorism policies.
In addition, he has participated in a variety of due diligence exercises as part of land acquisition projects, including the procurement of lands for the development of one of the largest industrial estates in Kalimantan.
Natan graduated in 2018 from Pelita Harapan University, majoring in advanced legal practice. Prior to joining ABNR, he was an in-house counsel at Indonesia’s largest private hospital management company, where he advised on new acquisitions, among other things.
