Amma specializes in project finance (with a particular focus on power projects), mergers and acquisitions (M&A)foreign direct investment (FDI)financial sector regulatory & compliance and capital markets regulatory & compliance. She is recognized as a “Next Generation Partner” for Projects and Energy, and is recommended for Banking & Finance, by Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and in 2022 she was named one of “Indonesia’s top 50 up-and-coming future legal leaders” by prestigious Hong Kong-based legal publication Asia Business Law Journal (ABLJ).

In project finance & development, she is currently assisting potential sponsors for the recently initiated Peusangan 4 Hydro Peaker Power Plant Project, and continues to advise the lenders to the ongoing Cirebon Expansion Project and the 200-MW Kalsel coal-fired power plant.

In 2018, she advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank on its USD 280 million project loan to state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for the procurement of additional capacity at the Muara Tawar Combined Cycle Power Plant, and a consortium of lenders on their EUR 112.05 million loan to PLN for the development of the Sumbagut Power Plant. She also assisted a China-based company with their proposed acquisition of a stake in the Jambi 2 Project.

In addition, she has worked on the Tanjung Jati B Expansion Project, the Central Java PPP Project, and the Muara Laboh and Rantau Dedap Geothermal Projects.

In her recent M&A work, Amma was a member of the ABNR team that advised Rexel Développement SAS (a France-based provider of electrical materials and supplies) on all Indonesian aspects of the sale of their Southeast Asian operations to American Industrial Acquisition Corporation Group (AIAC), and the ABNR team that assisted Uber with the Indonesian aspects of the merger of their Southeast Asia operations with those of Singapore-based ride hailing company Grab Inc., the largest deal ever of its kind in the region. She also worked on Germany-based Henkel’s acquisition of the business and assets of PT CGP Applied Technologies Indonesia (the Indonesian subsidiary of GCP Applied Technologies Inc.), as part of Henkel’s USD 1.05-billion global acquisition of GCP Applied technologies Inc.  .

Previously, she was a member of the ABNR teams that assisted widely diversified Indonesian food company PT Indofood Sukses Makmur TBK with its acquisition of the dairy business of PT Indolakto; and Daimler Chrysler for its acquisition of Mitsubishi’s interest in Indonesian automotive distributor PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian.

In FDI, she regularly advises blue-chip multinational corporations with their investment projects in Indonesia, including as regards the use of the OSS (Online Single Submission System – Indonesia’s new online system for corporate licensing and approvals), the Negative List (a comprehensive list of sectors that are fully open, partly open or fully closed to FDI), the legal requirements for the establishment of an FDI company, investment in Indonesia’s Special Economic Zones, accessing special facilities and incentives, and regulatory and compliance issues.

In financial sector regulatory & compliance, she has assisted a long list of high-end banks and financial institutions on such issues as derivatives, repos, negotiable certificates of deposits, ISDA master agreements, global master repurchase agreements (GMRA), etc. She also regularly advises clients on fintech and payment-system issues (payment gateways, e-money, e-wallet),

Her recent mandates in financial sector regulatory & compliance include advising ISDA on the Indonesian rules on margin requirements for non-centrally cleared derivatives and their compatibility with international standards; conducting an Indonesian jurisdictional analysis for Citibank on GMRA; advising JP Morgan on corporate banking operations in Indonesia, negotiable certificates of deposits, ISDA master agreements and other related matters; providing regulatory advice to Morgan Stanley on the rules governing derivate products, repos, negotiable certificates of deposits, and ISDA master agreements in Indonesia; assisting Societe General with extensive regulatory advice on Indonesian regulations on commodity-export finance and ISDA master agreements; and advising Bank of America Merrill Lynch on Indonesian consumer protection law in the financial services sector.

In capital markets regulatory & compliance, she recently advised PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesi (KPEI - Indonesian Central Clearing Agency) on KPEI regulations and their compatibility with global standards; and a leading global commodities broker on its application for membership of the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX).
