Lola Joenoes is a senior associate at ABNR with long-standing experience in banking & finance, corporate law, and project finance and development. Over the course of her career, she has developed deep sectoral knowledge and regularly advises on high-profile transactions across Indonesia’s infrastructure and financial sectors.
In project finance and development, Lola has extensive experience advising both lenders and sponsors on the financing of major power projects, with a particular focus onsecurity arrangements. She has been involved in many of Indonesia’s largest and most strategic energy projects, including the Paiton Expansion, Tanjung Jati B Expansion, Sarulla, Banten IPP, Wampu and Semangka Hydroelectric Projects, Central Java PPP Project, the 200 MW Kalsel Coal-Fired Power Plant, Cirebon Expansion, Tanjung Jati B Units 5 & 6, and the Muara Laboh and Rantau Dedap geothermal power projects.
She was also a member of the ABNR team that represented more than 30 of the world’s leading aircraft and engine lessors, manufacturers, and other aviation-related vendors in the USD 9.8-billion court-sanctioned debt restructuring of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, approved in June 2022. This matter remains the largest court-sanctioned restructuring in Indonesia’s history, both by asset value and creditor count, and one of the largest in Southeast Asia.
Lola earned her law degree in civil law from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, where she also completed the university’s notary public program. In 1996, she obtained an LL.M in International Business Law from American University, Washington, D.C. Prior to joining ABNR, she worked as in-house legal counsel in the corporate banking group of a major foreign bank in Jakarta.
