Irsan’s main areas of practice encompass banking and finance, project finance and energy & mineral resources.
In banking and finance, he has helped advise on a series of both onshore and offshore financings, including for data center facilities in West Java province. He also represented local lenders, comprising PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk, in their USD 522-million financing to PT Waskita Karya Tbk.
He assisted in advising a consortium of lenders comprising DBS Bank Ltd, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (Jakarta Branch), Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (Indoexim), Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk, BNP Paribas and The Export-Import Bank of China (CEXIM) in their USD 565 million financing for phase 2 of the development and construction of an aluminium smelting facility by PT Well Harvest Winning Alumina Refinery in Ketapang, West Kalimantan.
In project finance, Irsan was a member of ABNR teams that advised on a variety of projects, including the Karian Serpong Water Supply Project, South Tangerang; the Blawan Ijen 110MW Geothermal Power Plant, the Rantau Dedap Geothermal Project, and a range of renewable energy projects across the country.
He also worked on the USD 4.5 billion Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail Project financed by China Development Bank, the issuance of up to USD 1.2 billion in mandatory convertible bonds by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (as part of the Covid-19 National Recovery Program) to part fund the USD 9.8-billion restructuring of national flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk, and a USD 14 million financing deal for a mini hydro power plant in Central Sulawesi.
In energy & mineral resources, he assisted in advising PT Aneka Tambang Tbk and PT Industri Baterai Indonesia on an integrated battery investment being developed in Indonesia by Ningbo Contemporary Brunp Lygend Co., Ltd. and LG Energy Solution, and also helped advise PT Vale Indonesia Tbk on its equity investment in a joint venture with battery minerals producer Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co. and automaker Ford Motor Co., to develop the Pomalaa Block High-Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) Project.
Irsan joined ABNR as an associate in May 2023 from another leading law firm in Jakarta. He graduated cum laude from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, in 2019, majoring in business law.
