ABNR Lawyers Present at IJM-Hosted Session on Child Protection and Electronic Evidence with Indonesian National Police
ABNR Partners Rosevelt Riedel Lontoh and Mahiswara Timur, and Associate Sulaiman Khosyi Suharto, presented at a knowledge-sharing session hosted by the International Justice Mission (IJM) in cooperation with the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) on 6 February 2026.
The session, held at at Bareskrim Polri, attended by representatives from various agencies responsible for the enforcement and supervision of child-protection regulations. The ABNR team delivered a presentation titled "Eksploitasi Seksual Anak dan Bukti Elektronik dalam Kerangka Hukum Pidana Indonesia: Perspektif Advokat Indonesia," addressing the intersection of child protection law, electronic information and transactions law, and criminal law framework, around issues in digital and online media.
Child Protection Under Indonesian Criminal Law
The presentation examined the statutory provisions governing criminal liability for child exploitation, including reporting obligations and victim. The team also addressed the legal responsibilities of individuals, corporations, and law enforcement authorities in cases where digital content or online conduct involves minors.
Electronic Evidence in Criminal Proceedings
A central focus of the session was the treatment of electronic evidence in child-protection cases. The ABNR lawyers addressed the categories of electronic evidence commonly encountered in such matters, including digital forensics, account data, and platform-generated records, and the legal and practical challenges associated with their collection, authentication, and admissibility of electronic evidence.
