Michael is an associate at ABNR whose primary areas of practice include shipping & maritime, competition law, commercial disputes, and foreign direct investment (FDI).

In shipping & maritime, Michael advises a diverse range of clients on regulatory and transactional matters. His work includes advising on the sale and purchase of vessels, reflagging and compliance issues, port infrastructure development, and the establishment of shipping-related business operations in Indonesia.

As part of ABNR’s award-winning competition law team, Michael regularly assists domestic and international clients with post-merger notifications before the Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU).

In commercial disputes, Michael supports clients in both litigation and pre-litigation contexts, including employment-related conflicts, contractual and business tort disputes, and criminal business matters. He also advises on regulatory enforcement risks, with a particular focus on compliance with Indonesia’s anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws.

Within ABNR’s foreign direct investment (FDI) practice, Michael provides end-to-end legal support for multinational clients entering or expanding in Indonesia. His experience covers foreign ownership restrictions, OSS licensing, regulatory compliance, and corporate restructuring—including business closures and asset divestments.

Beyond his core areas of focus, Michael contributes to a range of legal due diligence exercises and corporate advisory work, including capital injections, amendments to articles of association, and governance for both domestic and foreign-invested companies.

Michael joined ABNR in November 2022. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, majoring in Criminal Law.
