Afif has been with ABNR since 2021, having graduated from the University of Indonesia in 2021, majoring in business law.

At ABNR, he is a member of a dedicated TMT team that regularly advises leading multinational telecommunications, technology, and social media companies on Indonesian regulatory issues and licensing matters, such as telecommunications network operations (including submarine cables and satellites), telecommunications services, and telecommunications infrastructure. He also recently served on the team that assisted a leading Indonesian telecommunications operator for a sale-and-leaseback transaction of its telecommunications towers.

Afif also works on Antitrust, General Corporate, and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) matters.

In capital markets, he has been involved in a number of major transactions, including PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)’s recent issuance of  IDR 2 trillion in conventional and Islamic bonds.

In Restructuring & Insolvency, he was a member of the ABNR team that worked on Indonesian national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia’s massively complex USD 9.8-billion debt restructuring, which was approved by the Indonesian court in June. ABNR represented creditors accounting for almost 50% of Garuda’s total debt, including bondholders, aircraft manufacturer Airbus and many of the world’s leading aircraft and engine lessors.

During his university years, Afif played a key role in the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) as its vice director, and served as the project officer for the ALSA Care and Legal Coaching Clinic in 2018.
