Ivander, who joined ABNR as an Assistant Lawyer in August 2019, focuses on General Corporate and M&A, FDI, Manpower, Commercial Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency. He also regularly handles Real Estate and Capital Markets matters. Prior to joining ABNR, he was employed by another leading Jakarta law firm, where he worked on investment and aviation matters, and tax disputes.

 

A recipient of a Soediman Award Scholarship, he graduated cum laude in 2016 from the Faculty of Law, Parahyangan Catholic University, after which he continued his studies at the University of Indonesia, from where he graduated cum laude in 2018 with a master’s degree in notarial science (he also received the award for “Best Outstanding Graduate” in his class).

 

Of Chinese descent, Ivander studied Chinese language and culture in South China Normal University, Guangzhou, from which he graduated in 2019.

 

Ivan’s recent work includes serving on the ABNR teams for the following matters:               

  • Assisting the Indonesian subsidiary of a Korean-based Bank listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in relation to its proposed capital injection plan (ongoing);
  • Representing an assembler of Apple iPhones in relation to the setting up of its new iPhone manufacturing operation in Indonesia’s Batam province. The project involves an investment up to USD 300 million, which is expected to provide some 1,000 jobs (ongoing);
  • Assisting a multinational Chinese-based courier and warehouse company with its establishment of Indonesian subsidiary (ongoing);
  • Assisting Hyundai Motor Company with its approx. USD 800-million plan to establish a Southeast Asia manufacturing hub in Indonesia that will have a capacity of up to 250,000 vehicles per year (ongoing);
  • Advising a multinational retail shopping mall company on its plan for the issuance of global bonds and to pledge its own shares and those of subsidiaries as collateral for the bonds;
  • Assisting a binary options trading platform with its Indonesian expansion plans and licensing issues
  • Advising one of the biggest power plant projects in Indonesia (1000-MW Cirebon Expansion Project) on a change in its lenders and preparation of security documents.
