Riedel joined ABNR in December 2013, having graduated in law from Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung. During his student years, he actively worked at the university’s Legal Aid Institute.
He is a senior associate whose main areas of practice encompass commercial litigation, criminal defense, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, shipping and maritime issues, and employment disputes. Riedel also focuses on contractual disputes, tort claims, product liability cases, environmental issues, and restructuring/insolvency matters. He often advises on contentious aspects of corporate transactions.
Riedel has a strong background in a variety of litigation and investigation cases, working with a wide range of financial services and corporate clients. He has deep experience of representing defendants in criminal and regulatory investigations, and litigation involving allegations of corruption, fraud and cybercrime.
He advises and represents clients in contract dispute cases, and has represented clients in arbitration proceedings under the auspices of the Indonesian National Arbitration Centre (BANI) and the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC).
In criminal matters, he has advised and represented several multinational companies, including one in a business email compromise case, fraud and white-collar crime, and investigations into alleged corruption.
In the shipping and maritime field, Riedel advises and represents clients (ship owners, P&I Clubs, and cargo interests) in a variety of shipping matters, such as vessel arrest, limitation of liability, cargo claims, and personal injury matters.
Riedel has also advised and represented companies in bankruptcy and suspension of debt payment obligation proceedings at the Indonesian commercial court.
